Refund & Cancellation Policy

1. Overview & Scope

This Refund & Cancellation Policy governs all transactions conducted with The Brett Academy (Pty) Ltd via thebrettacademy.co.za and our mobile application, including enrollments in the 7-Week At-Home Digital Cricket Curriculum, Specialist Fix-It Tracks, individual 1-on-1 coaching sessions, and multi-session monthly coaching packages in Pretoria East and Centurion. All payments are processed in South African Rand (ZAR) via PayFast.

2. Digital Curriculum & Online Course Refunds (14-Day Money-Back Guarantee)

  • Statutory 7-Day Cooling-Off Right (ECT Act): In accordance with Section 44 of the South African Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (Act 25 of 2002), parents and guardians are entitled to cancel any online digital course purchase within 7 calendar days of transaction completion for a full 100% refund without penalty.
  • The Brett Academy 14-Day Satisfaction & Technique Guarantee: In addition to your statutory rights, we stand behind our coaching methodology with a full 14-day money-back guarantee on the At-Home Digital Curriculum (R490 once-off). If you are unsatisfied with the platform within 14 calendar days of purchase, or if your child completes the prescribed daily 15-minute drills for 14 days without measurable technique progress, you may request a full 100% refund.
  • Zero Recurring Subscriptions on Digital Courses: The At-Home Digital Curriculum is a once-off payment with lifetime access. You will never be billed recurring monthly fees for digital course access.

3. In-Person Coaching Sessions & Package Cancellations

The Brett Academy offers private 1-on-1 coaching sessions (30-minute, 45-minute, and 60-minute slots) and 6-session monthly packages at our Pretoria East and Centurion facilities:

  • Rescheduling & Cancellations (24+ Hours' Advance Notice): Parents may reschedule or cancel any booked 1-on-1 coaching session free of charge by notifying us at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled session time via the online Athlete Portal, WhatsApp (+27 79 971 9523), or email ([email protected]). Cancelled sessions with at least 24 hours' notice may be rebooked for an alternative date or refunded in full upon request.
  • Late Cancellations (< 24 Hours' Notice) & Missed Sessions: Because net lanes and coaching slots are reserved exclusively for your child, cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled start time or no-shows without prior notice may be forfeited. Compassionate exceptions and free rescheduling are granted in cases of sudden junior athlete illness, injury, or medical emergencies.
  • Multi-Session Monthly Packages (6-Session Packs): There are zero long-term lock-in contracts. Parents may cancel an active multi-session coaching package at any time by written notice. Any unused, uncompleted sessions remaining in the package will be refunded on a pro-rata basis (the total package amount paid minus the completed sessions calculated at the standard individual session rate), or retained as session credit for a future school term at the parent's request.
  • Rain, Lightning & Facility Disruptions: Sessions at our indoor Action Sports Arena proceed in all weather conditions. If an outdoor turf or grass net session in Pretoria East or Centurion is postponed by Coach Merrick due to rain, lightning, or unsafe pitch conditions, the session is automatically rescheduled at no cost to you, or refunded in full upon request if an alternative slot cannot be accommodated.

To cancel a booking, cancel a coaching package, or request a refund, please contact our support team using any of the channels below and include your Full Name, Registered Email Address, Athlete's Name, and Order / Invoice Reference:

5. Refund Processing Timelines & Method

  • Original Payment Method: All approved refunds are credited back to the original payment method used during checkout via PayFast (or via direct EFT to your nominated South African bank account where instant EFT was used).
  • Processing Time: Refund requests are reviewed and initiated within 24 to 48 hours of receipt. Once processed, funds typically reflect in your account within 5 to 7 business days depending on South African interbank clearing schedules.
  • Zero Admin Fees: The Brett Academy does not deduct administrative or processing penalties on eligible 14-day guarantee refunds, statutory cooling-off cancellations, or weather-postponed sessions.

6. Consumer Protection Act (CPA) Compliance

This Refund & Cancellation Policy is drafted in full compliance with the Consumer Protection Act (Act 68 of 2008) and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (Act 25 of 2002) of the Republic of South Africa. Nothing in this policy is intended to unlawfully restrict, limit, or supersede any consumer rights guaranteed under South African law.
